Did you see the articles on Panera/St. Louis Bread Co.? You can read about this new pay-what-you-can here: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/
Last week we were guests on a radio show called Stop Stressing Now. You can hear the interview here http://bit.ly/d9T7yB
Charlotte Rivers will be covering for Mary on Saturdays for the summer! We are excited to welcome her to our team!
There are two additional restaurants using the pay-what-you-can model opening right here in Denver. They are both slated to open within the next few months. One is in the Highlands neighborhood called, Comfort Cafe and the other will be on south Broadway in Englewood. Although we are not officially attached to them in a formal business way, we wish them the best and hope the next few months go smoothly!
On Friday, we made 1,000 cookies for Girls on the Run. They were hosting a 5K run in City Park and we were happy to support them by providing an after race snack. Libby even made it out for the race and she ran the whole way!
On Tuesday, we had a group here with Stanley British Primary School from Valentina’s class. They had been collecting paper goods for SAME for sometime and brought them down here and had lunch. It was fun to share about SAME with a younger crowd. One question was asked, “What is the best advice you have for a group of young people who want to make a difference?” I encouraged them to follow their passions and find something they loved and get involved that way. It is what makes SAME Cafe such an easy job for Brad and I. We get to do what we love every day.
Friday night was another great GAME night at SAME. Stayed tuned to our blog for details about the next community-building GAME night!
