SAME Cafe | Serving Good Food for the Greater Good

Newsletter #135

This week was packed with many successful community events! We were so
excited to have a packed house on Tuesday night for the viewing of FRESH.
It was a great turn out. We even had two screens showing in both rooms! It
was crazy good! The potato bar was delicious and super successful – we sold
out of food that night. And then Friday night we had our second GAME NITE
which had a huge turn out as well. The restaurant was full and everyone
enjoyed the lasagna! This just showed us how active our SAME Cafe family is
and wants to be in the evenings. Keep reading this blog for more evening
events.

Speaking of events, our next big event is the 2nd Annual SAME Cafe Ante-Up
Charity Poker Tournament! It will be a fabulous night of poker, food,
drinks, door prizes and just general fun, with the addition of a concert
after the tournament concludes.

Date: Saturday, March 6, 2010
Time: 5pm–Poker Tournament; 7:30–door prizes; 8:30–Bands begin
Location: Mercury Cafe
Address: 2199 California Street, Denver, CO

http://www.samepoker.org/

$25 will get you in the door with drink tickets, door prize tickets and the
pleasure of live music.
$50 will get you all of that, plus entry in the poker tournament with
professional poker dealers.

Thanks to everyone who voted again! We won Rachel’s G.U.L.P. challenge.
Rachel came in on Saturday and had lunch (a cold glass of water – it was her
last day on the project!) with a friend and told us the great news! Thank
you Rachel for the donation and the support.

Last week on Thursday we got to wear our pajamas to work! According to
Denver’s Road Home, Pajama Day is meant to remind people that not everyone
has a place to put on their pajamas and go to bed at night. In addition to
businesses and schools letting their students and staff wear pajamas to work
and school, we donated our day’s profits to Denver’s Road Home. Denver’s
Road Home is a coalition of charities and homeless shelters working to end
homelessness in Denver, started by Mayor Hickenlooper.
