Last Thursday I was on my way over to the cafe when I got a call from an unknown number on my cell. Normally I would just ignore such a call and let it go to voicemail, but since my phone number is now the main contact number for the cafe, I went ahead and answered. Man, am I glad I did! It turned out to be a guy named Jason Sheehan, who just happens to be my favorite food writer/critic here in Denver.
He writes for a paper called the Westword, and he called because he had heard about us no less than 3 times in the few days that we had been open. It’s amazing how fast word of mouth can travel! He interviewed me over the phone, and I tried as best I could to overcome the nervous knots in my stomach and answer questions somewhat intelligently. I’m not so sure about the “intelligent” part, but I think I at least managed to get a few of our main points across in the conversation.
